first aid training for students course

Blueguard Middle East was established in 2017, and over the years we have been able to look at what currently exists within the First Aid Industry, and enhance the material to meet our level of expectations. In doing so, we have created a First Aid Training for Students’ course.

When it comes to First Aid, the focus should not only be on training the adults involved. Students are equally capable of being able to learn the basics of Emergency First Aid Training so that they are able to assist if an emergency was to take place. Something as simple as knowing the correct number to call (Police, Ambulance or Fire Department), in an emergency can be the seconds it takes to save an individual from a situation that can worsen.

Learning a First Aid training Course is of crucial importance if a medical emergency was to take place. We believe that young people should be empowered to have a basic understanding of first aid and CPR. These lifesaving skills, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator should be accessible for everyone.

What does first aid training for students course involve?

We have customized our First Aid Training for Students in the United Arab Emirates, to incorporate factors that are unique to this part of the world, such as the terrain, weather and lifestyle. We take into account the existing risk assessments that your school has in place, and adapt our first aid training around that, giving you real life scenarios that are unique and can take place in your premises.

Our First Aid Training for Students course will enable them to learn the following:

  1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
  2. Be able to assess an emergency situation safely.
  3. Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty.
  4. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking.
  5. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
  6. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
  7. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries.
  8. Know how to safely use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

What will your students learn on a First Aid Training for Students course?

Students will learn to administer the different techniques for the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an infant, toddler, child or adult in distress. Students will have the confidence to know that they have been approved by The Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS) to assess an incident and deal with external bleeding, hypovolemic shock and minor injuries. These emergencies can occur within a school setting or in their personal lives, so students will be empowered to take action and prevent a situation from worsening.

First Aid Training for Students course Qualification and Certificate

The qualification students will receive, upon completing our First Aid Training for Students course is The Highfield Level 3 International Award in Emergency First Aid and use of an AED and CPR for all ages.

The duration of this course is 7 hours with a practical assessment. Upon successful completion of the assessment students will get a certificate and license within 24 hours from sitting the course. For a blended learning option, students can complete the Online Emergency First Aid at Work course that we offer and then attend only a five hour in-person training for Emergency First Aid and use of an AED and CPR for all ages.

How long are First Aid Training for Students certificates valid for?

Upon successful completion of the Emergency First Aid and use of an AED and CPR for all ages course, students will receive a certification and license, both of which are valid for three years. We advise that students refresh first aid knowledge and skills every year, to remain updated with the global technological advancements and trends.

Teaching Basic First Aid to Kids

We are huge advocates of teaching basic first aid to kids. Equipping them at a young age to be able to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the safe and effective use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) will empower them to have the confidence within themselves and take the correct level of action if an accident or emergency was to occur. Their timely action could be the difference between an individual’s life or death.

Does the training provider need to be approved by the Highfield International Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS)?

If students are interested in obtaining a Highfield Level 3 International Award in Emergency First Aid and use of an AED and CPR for all ages, then this will need to be approved by The Highfield International Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC). If students would like to receive a license and certification to administer First Aid, CPR and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), then this will have to be approved by the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS). Blueguard Middle East is approved by both Highfield International Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS) to teach first aid. Upon successful completion of the first aid training for students course with Blueguard, students will receive both the certification and the license which are valid for 3 years.
