pediatric first aid training for nurseries in dubai and the uae

Blueguard Middle East offers a bespoke EPR and Emergency Pediatric First Aid Training course for nurseries with a focus on teachers and nursery staff in the United Arab Emirates & it’s part of our First Aid Training courses. The qualification title is Emergency Pediatric First Aid and Use of an AED for Nurseries course.

We offer this course because hundreds of children frequent nurseries across Dubai and we are familiar with most of the first aid related incidents that take place there. Children are at a higher risk of accidents due to their energy and activity levels. Young children may place small objects in their mouth leading to chocking incidents.  Some children may have allergic reactions to insect bites or certain types of food, so the correct first aid supervision and care is essential to prevent a situation with an infant or toddler from worsening. Nursery staff require extra levels of first aid training awareness due to the nature of their industry, working so closely with young children.

By Taking Blueguard’s Pediatric First Aid Training for Nurseries course, upon successful completion you will receive an Emergency Pediatric First Aid and Use of an AED certification and license. This will enable teachers and nursery staff to add value within the community and administer the correct tools and techniques that could be the difference between life and death, should they choose to assist an infant, toddler or child in an emergency. Teachers and Nursery Staff will become Pediatric First Aiders within the workplace and will be known by colleagues to provide advanced duty of care and assistance, should an emergency arise.

Who is responsible for PEDIATRIC FIRST AID TRAINING FOR NURSERIES?

Typically, in Dubai and the UAE, the nursery administration and the appointed medical staff or nursery nurse are responsible for the first aid training that is administered in their nursery. The Director of the nursery or Management of the nursery are responsible for ensuring that the teachers and nursery staff are first aid trained according to the United Arab Emirates Government mandate.

What is the minimum provision of PEDIATRIC FIRST AID TRAINING FOR NURSERIES?

It is recommended that the more teachers and nursery staff members are trained on first aid, the higher are the chances of safety and wellbeing of the children in their care. Can you put a price on an infant choking? Would the teacher in charge know what to do? By the time the school nurse is notified, the wait may have been too long for the child.

We advise that every nursery staff member should know First Aid Training and be able to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the safe and effective use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). This will give nursery staff members the confidence in themselves to be able to quickly and effectively help if an emergency was to take place.

How many nursery staff should be Pediatric First Aid trained?

Nurseries have higher chances of probability for an accident to take place. With hundreds of young children within the premises, there will be numerous occasions where a first aider is needed. There is no mandated standard for the exact number of nursery staff who should be trained in first aid.

It is recommended that a sufficient number of nursery staff be trained in first aid to ensure a safer environment for all children.

Does PEDIATRIC FIRST AID TRAINING FOR NURSERIES provider need to be approved by the Highfield International Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS)?

If nursery staff are interested in obtaining a Highfield Level 3 International Award in Emergency Pediatric First Aid and use of an AED certification, then this will need to be approved by The Highfield International Awarding Body For Compliance (HABC). If nursery staff would like to receive a license and certification to administer First Aid, CPR and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), then this will have to be approved by the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS).

Blueguard Middle East is approved by both Highfield International Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS) to teach Emergency Pediatric first aid training, and upon successful completion of the pediatric first aid training for nurseries course with Blueguard, teachers and nursery staff will receive both the certification and the license which are valid for 3 years.
