Who Is The Course For & Who Should Attend?

This first aid course is for those individuals looking to have further knowledge and a better understand of First Aid. This is the advanced course from the Level 2 First Aid at work. mandatory for all workplace employees, particularly those working in leisure and fitness centres and schools that have an AED (defibrillator) at their facility.

Suitable for Fire Fighters and H&S personel teachers, fitness instructors, personal trainers, lifeguards, school nurses, hotel workers, restaurant workers and all those employees working in the service sector.

 

How Is The Course Taught & Assessed?

Both traditional face to face classroom teaching, and blended e-learning options are available, including online assessment.

 

What Will I Learn On This Course?

1- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
2- Know how to assess an incident
3- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
4- Know how to manage a casualty who is not breathing normally and unresponsive
5- Know how to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
6- Know how to recognise and assist a casualty with a minor injury
7- Know how to manage a casualty who is in shock
8- Know how to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
9- Know how to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
10- Know how to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
11- Know how to administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
12- Know how to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
13- Know how to administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
14- Know how to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
15- Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
16- Know how to safely use an automated external defibrillator (AED)

 

Course Pre-Requisites & Assessment

No prior knowledge of first aid is required to enrol. Candidates must be at least 16 years old. Both theory and practical elements of the course must be passed to successfully gain this qualification.

 

Will I Get A Certificate?

Yes, upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate which is valid for three years. The certificate is approved by Highfield International Awarding Body For Compliance (HABC) and the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DAC)
